OUR AUTISM STORY: A SERIES OF DEFINING MOMENTS
When we started our journey with autism, we loved hearing stories from other parents (and we still do). They made us feel understood and gave us hope and the strength to keep going. Most importantly, the stories gave us valuable facts and insight that we used later on to help heal our children.
We are going to start by telling you about the moment we first connected the word AUTISM to our children, our first defining moment with autism. We are currently in the process of writing our children's stories. As we finish them, we will add them to the website. Our goal is for you to be caught up on all the details, so that you will have a clear picture of what Annie and Brody are like today. We hope to show you, through our stories, that health improvements can lessen the symptoms of autism.
Some of our story will be painful to re-live, but we also believe it will be therapeutic for us to re-tell it. It is easy to take for granted the subtle gains our children make. Remembering the worst times makes us more appreciative of what we have now.
We hope to convey to our readers, dealing with autism, that you are not alone and there is always hope.
