TWO MOMS ON A CRUSADE FOR ANSWERS
Most of the recovery stories told in the autism community are about children who lost their diagnosis before the age of five. While we are happy for those children and parents, we think there needs to be more discussion about gains made by children after age five. Their stories may not be as dramatic. Their improvements may come slower and take longer, but they do happen. We are living it.
We knew early on that our children displayed the symptoms of autism, however, we were more distressed by their real and devastating health issues that were being dismissed by their pediatricians. From the beginning, we had a suspicion that if we were able to restore their health, maybe, just maybe their symptoms of autism would get better or go away all together. So, we set out on a journey to heal our children. We took different paths, but both of us have seen amazing gains as a result of improving our children's health.
This is the reason we created this website. To tell you about our children's road to better health - what worked and what didn't work. We want to save you from having to learn lessons "the hard way" like we did. We've also tried to put all the information we came across during our quest to heal Annie and Brody in one place in order to save you time and a lot of frustration. Our children are not recovered, but are recovering. We are just two moms, we don't have all the answers, but we are always searching for them. We hope you will benefit from hearing about what we've learned along the way.
